John had a delightful wife and several young children when he died. He had a successful construction business which is why Richard and I were still in touch with him. Richard was one of his subcontractors. His death happened at his son's birthday party ...his funeral was huge because it was so tragic. The boy he tried to rescue also died. They got stuck under a culvert of the canal that had too much debrie in it. This was the summer of many drownings. He went on a mission to Washington DC at the same time as Richard which is another reason we were still in touch with him. I remember the year and season of his death because Richard's sister had died a few weeks before him.
