Randy J. Mortensen

Randy J. Mortensen, loving husband, father, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023 at the age of 69 at home with his family by his side. He fought a short battle with pancreatic cancer and sepsis.

Randy was born November 26, 1953 in Murray, Utah to Roland and Iris Warr Mortensen. He grew up in East Millcreek Utah.

Randy graduated from Skyline High in 1972 and then went on to graduate from Westminister College in 1976 where he received a Bachelor Degree in Economics. He also earned his Master's Degree in Public Administration from BYU in 1981.

Randy was an accountant for Questar for 35 years. He retired in 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his family and participating in any activity they had going especially watching movies of all kinds.

Randy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Anne Pratt Mortensen, his sons Brad and Jeff, and his daughter Jennifer, his sister-in-law Ruth, Sue and Polly Theobald, brother-in-law Kevin Theobald, mother-in-law Barbara Pratt, several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharlene and brothers Lynn and Chris.

A visitation will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by a short memorial service at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah. Interment will follow at South Jordan City Cemetery.
