Thomas M. Malin III
November 5, 1954 – January 9, 2025
Thomas M. Malin III passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on November 5, 1954, to Thomas M. Malin Jr. and Betty Malin, Tom lived a life full of adventure, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his friends and family. A devoted father and loyal friend, Tom built a meaningful career as a chiropractor but was truly a master of many skills. Whether gliding down snowy slopes or fixing something with a toolbox in hand, Tom approached every endeavor with confidence and excellence.
His love for the outdoors shaped much of his life—spending winters skiing and patrolling at the Canyons, and summers waterskiing with friends and family. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Tom had a passion for cars—especially sports cars. He knew everything about them, from their intricate mechanics to their rich history, and he shared his knowledge freely with those around him. His appreciation for sleek, powerful machines was matched only by the joy he found in the adventures they made possible.
Tom was deeply engaged in his children’s lives—coaching their sports teams, encouraging their pursuits, and showing up with his characteristic generosity and steady presence. He was always willing to lend a hand—whether to family, friends, or neighbors—on projects large or small.
Tom is survived by his father, Thomas M. Malin Jr.; his brother, Randall Malin; his children: Marie (Mike) Wilkinson, Kyle (Aubri) Bowen, Sam (Lacey) Malin, Erik (Lachel) Bowen, and Jim (Elise) Malin; his 11 beloved grandchildren; Diane Hansen; and his loyal companion, Max. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and his sister, Kathy.
He also leaves behind countless friends who became family and who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends and caregivers who provided comfort and support to Tom and his loved ones during his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Talia Event Center, 22 East 200 South, Clearfield, Utah.
Condolences may be shared with the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
